Position Overview

Court Security Officers ensure the safety and security of courthouse facilities, staff, and visitors. Officers monitor access points, screen visitors, and respond to security incidents within court facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor courthouse entrances and security screening checkpoints.
  • Operate metal detectors and x-ray screening equipment.
  • Maintain order in courtrooms and public areas of the courthouse.
  • Respond to security incidents and disturbances.
  • Enforce courthouse policies regarding prohibited items.
  • Assist deputies and court personnel during high-risk proceedings.
  • Complete incident reports and security documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior law enforcement, military, or security experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain situational awareness and respond to emergencies.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
