Information Technology Specialist
Salary Range: $50,331 – $80,482
Position Overview
The Information Technology Specialist supports the technological infrastructure of the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office. This position ensures the reliability, security, and functionality of computer systems, software platforms, mobile technology, and communication systems used by sworn and civilian personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, servers, and network systems.
- Provide technical support for Office staff, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of law enforcement software systems.
- Maintain data backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Coordinate with city IT and third-party vendors for system upgrades and maintenance.
- Support audiovisual and technology needs for court operations and agency events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
- Knowledge of networking, Microsoft systems, and cybersecurity practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues quickly.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
