Process Server – Sheriff

Position Overview

Process Servers are responsible for the service of civil legal documents issued by the courts, ensuring proper delivery in accordance with Maryland law and court procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve summons, subpoenas, court orders, and other legal documents.
• Verify identities and ensure accurate documentation of service.
• Maintain logs and documentation of all served and attempted service documents.
• Communicate with court clerks and sheriff’s office staff regarding service status.
• Operate vehicles and travel throughout Baltimore City to complete assignments.
• Maintain professionalism while interacting with members of the public.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and understand legal documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
