Position Overview

Deputy Sheriffs are sworn law enforcement officers responsible for enforcing court orders, providing courtroom security, serving legal process, and supporting the civil justice system within Baltimore City.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, servers, and network systems.
• Provide technical support for Office staff, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and cybersecurity protocols.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of law enforcement software systems.
• Maintain data backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Coordinate with city IT and third-party vendors for system upgrades and maintenance.
• Support audiovisual and technology needs for court operations and agency events.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission certification (or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to meet physical fitness requirements.
• Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening.
