Domestic Violence Resources
The Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office Domestic Violence Division is responsible for the service of domestic violence orders issued by the District Court for Baltimore City. Deputies are responsible for locating and serving respondents for protection from abuse orders.
The Baltimore City Domestic Violence Unit is committed to reducing incidents of domestic violence through proactive enforcement and victim centered support. We prioritize rapid response to ensure that respondents are promptly served and fully comply with Protective Orders. Beyond service, we take decisive action to enhance victim safety by seizing and securing firearms from abusers, removing offenders from shared residences, and assisting in the safe return of minor children to the petitioners when appropriate. Collaboration is central to our approach. We partner with allied agencies dedicated to ending domestic violence, allowing us to share critical resources and connect victims with services and options they may not have otherwise known were available. Through these coordinated efforts, we strive to empower victims, promote accountability, and create safer communities.
