• $1,500 for an associate degree ($0.721 per hour)
• $3,000 for a bachelor’s degree ($1.442 per hour)
• $4,500 for a master’s degree and above ($2.163 per hour)

How long is the application process?
Approximately a month and a half. It could be shorter or longer due to scheduling.
What are the uniforms?
A black polo shirt with khaki pants and combat boots for any CSO position.
Am I able to attend the academy?
Yes, from the permanent CSO position. You can also transition from a CSO temp to a CSO
permanent position and attend the academy. The important thing is getting into the Sheriff’s
Office, after that you can ask to be moved.
How long is the academy?
Approximately 6 months.
Where is the academy?
Currently we are working with BPD, however, the location can vary.
What are the shift times?
Monday-Friday during business hours. NO swing or night shifts.
How many days off do employees receive?
If you are a permanent employee, you will receive 6 personal days in January. However, if
you are hired after February your days will be pro-rated based on the month employment
begins. Like personal days, vacation days are also for permanent employees. The
breakdown is listed below.
